Fantastic!!

A fantastic shaving experience from 'the fat'. My second time to purchase, it took a while to master the lathering technique - hence 4 stars - but once mastered the soap is truly wonderful. Highly recommended, but a little work involved!

Great Product

A really good soap that's easy to lather and has a pleasingly subtle scent. I'll definitely be back for more.

Classy

Shaving is a ritual and a nice ceramic dish adds a certain class to it. The soap is very good, too, with nice lather and perhaps a little heavy scent which adds some manliness to the ritual.

Fabulous soap - with a little practice perhaps
Posted by Thomas Olsen on 22nd Sep 2013
This is a truly fabulous soap. For me, however, it took quite a bit of practice to lather it up. It is extremely sensitive to the amount of water that is applied. Moreover, I found that my badger brush was inappropriate for this soap, but the Semogue 620 boar brush does it well (i use only bowl lathering). Lastly, I experienced the same phenomenon as some others that my MWF puck started to get cracks after a few months. This was taken care of by putting the puck and ceramic bowl in the microwave oven, and very, very carefully (10 seconds at a time) softening up the puck, until the cracks could be squeezed out by hand. The quality of the soap has not deteriorated as a result of this experiment. Anyhow, all the fuss has been worth it, this soap produces lather which, compared to my other soaps and creams, is second to none in terms of lubrication and protection of sensitive skin.

Fantastic stuff

Mitchells woolfat is a great shaving soap. It produces perfect creamy lather, comes in a beautiful ceramic dish and the smell is nice as well, not too strong. Highly recommended.

Excellent for sensitive skin
Posted by BarryS on 22nd Sep 2013
Ever since I started shaving I always had problems with red marks on my neck and face after I finished shaving. When I switched to a safety razor things improved by miles but I still used to get red marks on the right side of my neck no matter what type of soaps, creams or after shave stuff I've used. Recently I bought Mitchells Wool Fat and I have to say I'm extremely impressed. No more red marks, easy enough to make into a nice rather and comes in a lovely ceramic dish. I'd highly recommend it to anyone with sensitive skin.
