I have found this really good. Thankfully it's rare that I need it as it's rare that I have a bleeder that witch hazel can't handle but when I do, this stuff really steps up! I find it works quicker, leaves less white residue and hurts WAY less than a styptic pencil. In fact since I got this, I don't think I even know where my styptic pencil is!

I respectfully disagree with Glen. This stuff works brilliantly for me and is miles better than a styptic pencil. It does what it says on the tin. I very strongly suspect, however, that my skin suits this product and Glens doesn't

I bought this thinking it would be as effective as a styptic pencil but I was wrong. The gel isn't very good, even on small nicks, you're better off with a cold water rinse and some witch hazel or even the old reliable styptic pencil or alum block.
