Feather AS-D2S Stainless Razor & Stand

This is superb safety razor. My alum block does not sting at all after shaving with this as-d2s (using feather blades also). This razor really competes with my Japanese straight razor. BBS shave every time. Quite heavy compared to my other old safety razor. Very fast delivery to Finland. Will surely order again from shaving.ie.

I'm a 48 year old man who has only converted to DE shaving in the last 5 years. I have sensitive and easily irritated skin and don't really feel I need to shave every day. However when I have to I found that a number of the razors that I had used such as DE89,Futur,Bakelite were a bit too aggressive for me or perhaps my technique was not up to scratch. I have looked at the reviews of the feather numerous time and wondered could it really be worth the considerable expense? Finally took the plunge to purchase and after using it for a few weeks, I can honestly say that shaving has turned from something I dreaded to something I enjoy. This razor is mild enough to give me the results I want without the awful razor burn I have experienced in the past (of course I understand that my technique and preparation are important and perhaps I still have some way to go in learning how to shave perfectly.) However after a few weeks of using the Feather AS-D2 I now see I should have taken the plunge much earlier. So it gets my thumbs up for my skin type, sensitive, easily irritated and growth type, wiry but not very heavy.

A razor with a fantastic production quality, details and finishes are the best I've seen and moreover is very beautiful. I have a very sensitive skin so I had big expectations on this razor. Needs a very sharp blade (such as a Feather) but shaving is fantastic. It has an impressive smoothness, the blade seems to glide without touching the skin and and produces a very close shave causing no irritation. The only drawback is that it doesn't exploits a blade completely. I shaved 4 times with the Feather blade in the Feather razor and 4 times in my Merkur Progress.

I had been using a Muhle R89 G with a mixture of razors and love the feel of the shave from the razor. I wanted something a bit heavier so went for the plunge and bought the Feather AS-D2S. The reviews I read were generally glowing about this razor, so I was eager to try it. I was probably a bit too eager the first couple of times I tried it. However, I paid more attention to how I was using it and realised the angle of the head was wrong. It is slightly different to that of the Muhle R89. Once I figured out the correct angle, it has provided me with the smoothest of shaves in less passes. A marvel really. My skin does not get irritated, even when using Feather blades. A truly magnificent shave. It is now my go-to razor. I highly recommend the Feather AS-D2S if you are striving for that BBS. I have tried 11 DE-razors within the last two years (incl. PILS, R89, R41 and AS-D1), but have never been happy with the shaving itself and/or the results. So I regularly got back to my cartridge razor. I wanted to give a last try to the new Feather AS-D2, and it really does the work! It's as mild as the AS-D1, but gives a very close shave. And it is also possible to get a close and smooth head-shave (for those, who chose this kind of "hairstyle") without any nicks. The shave-angle is easy to find and to hold, even for me after months of mixing cartridges and DE! I highly recommend this razor and also Chris and his shop, GREAT!

Except for the price which is on the high end side this Feather Stainless is the only razor one needs. Highly recommended!
