This is the best razor I ever used! 5/5 Stars. The build quality is surgical grade and the satin finish is beautiful. It provides a very mild, comfortable shave that leaves my skin feeling great. It’s a precision instrument that makes the morning routine feel like a spa experience. Highly recommended for anyone who values quality over everything else. I use a face wash first, then I apply a small amount of preshave oil letting it soak in. Then the Jermyn St shaving cream for sensitive skin. I only have to shave every two days so two passes are enough to give me a perfectly close shave. After shaving I rinse my face with cold water and apply face toner and then a light aftershave or sometimes just Speick aftershave balm for sensitive skin. Or both!

I've been using the Feather AS-D2S for a month, and it's an impressively precise and high-quality tool. The stainless steel construction is superb, solid, well-balanced, and the stand is up to the task: stable, heavy, and well-designed. Not for all blades: Contrary to what I thought, I wasn't able to use it well with the Feather blades. On my skin, they don't glide well, as if they "snagged." On the other hand, with the green Astra, the shave is much more comfortable and much more natural. Special angle: The shaving angle is quite different from most other razors, but I adapted to it very quickly. Once I found the right technique, it's precise and clean. Effective without being harsh: This razor cuts the hair very well; you can clearly feel the blade doing its job, but without irritating the skin. Result: I can now shave every day, which I didn't do before because I was afraid of razor burn. In short: the Feather AS-D2S is a very high-quality razor that requires a bit of skill and a good blade/skin combination, but is well worth the effort. Efficient, precise, and uncompromising.

Like many others I was reluctant at spending this much for a razor but I do not regret it one bit. This razor is very smooth shaving and well balanced. Excellent quality finish and sits well in the holder. I have not nicked myself once (a regular occurrence with my EJ Chatswroth!) and able to smoothly deal with my cleft chin. I use Feather blades which are a great combination for me for a BBS. Come to think of it, I have not had razor burn or ingrown hairs since I started using this shaver! I actually look forward and enjoy shaving now.
