Semogue 2015 Finest Badger Shaving Brush sets a 22mm Finest grade knot into a natural cherry handle, and it sits at the top of the Hereditas badger models.
Finest is the grade above Best. The hair is long enough to be set at a working loft without trimming, so what touches the face is the tapered natural end rather than a cut edge, which is the single biggest factor in how soft a badger brush feels.
Badger holds warm water far better than bristle or synthetic fibre, which is most of the reason people move to it. A properly loaded knot keeps releasing water into the lather right through the shave, so what's on your face for the third pass is much the same as it was for the first.
Cherry is close-grained and deepens in colour with time, so the handle will look warmer in a few years than it does new.

great brush at a good price
I've been using this brush for a about a month. virtually no bristle loss unlike some premium brands silvertips that I've owned. i like the longer handle (44mm) and I think the Portuguese oak has an understated elegance. holds water well thanks to the high density 22mm knot and builds a great lather. great value for the spec.
