Semogue 730 HD Finest Badger Shaving Brush is a densely packed 22mm badger knot in a glossy black acrylic handle.
The HD refers to how tightly the knot is packed rather than to the hair itself. Forcing more hair into the same diameter gives a brush that resists splaying, which shifts the feel from soft and yielding towards firm and controlled, and it increases how much water the knot will carry.
Set it against a boar brush of similar size and it builds a noticeably fuller lather in less time, particularly with creams, and the backbone easily outdoes softer badger knots from other makers despite the gentle, tapered tips. It works brilliantly with creams and softer soaps, though it has less scrubbing power on a very hard soap.
The hair is Semogue's Finest grade, long enough to be set without trimming, so what meets your face is the natural tapered end of each hair rather than a cut edge. Badger needs no breaking in, and this dense knot only asks for a little longer to dry between shaves.

How to Use
- Wet the knot through, then squeeze it out against the side of a bowl
- Load for longer than a standard knot needs, as there is more hair to coat
- Work the lather up on the face with firm, deliberate circles
- Add water a few drops at a time until the lather turns glossy
- Rinse right down to the base of the knot and leave to dry bristles down
