Semogue 2010 Badger Hair Shaving Brush is the entry point to Semogue's badger brushes, a 22mm knot in a natural ash handle.
The hair is graded Pure Black, the firmest badger Semogue makes. It's thicker in section than the finer grades and trimmed to shape rather than left with its natural tip, which gives the knot a scrubbier feel and considerably more backbone than people tend to expect from badger.
That firmness is particularly good for harder soaps. If you're coming to badger from a boar brush and would rather the feel didn't change completely, this is the one that bridges the gap, working a hard soap without any of the settling-in time boar needs.
Badger needs no break-in, so it performs the same on its first shave as its hundredth, and beyond rinsing the soap out properly it asks for nothing.

Quality
This is a quality badger brush, no doubting it. It is very soft but with enough backbone to give it a bit of firmness. The handle is very comfortable in the hand. I have had success with lathering creams with this brush but not so much with soaps. That is probably user issue rather than a brush issue. Well worth purchasing and at a good price to boot.

You get more than you pay for
I previously used a boar brush that wasn't much cheaper than this one. Spend the few extra euros, it's worth it.

Does what it says on the tin
This is a well priced, beautiful looking, top quality badger. It lathers up easily, works as well on soaps as it does on creams, and holds enough lather to last 3 passes with ease and for some reason it seems to dry lightning fast too! I like it very much.
