Koa Mahina is a tallow-based shaving soap made in small batches in the USA. Koa Mahina, Hawaiian for "Warrior Moon", is a dark, woody fragrance built around teakwood, santal, cedar, and sandalwood, with cardamom adding a touch of spice and benzoin and tonka bean giving a warm, resinous base. Not a light or fresh scent. It's deliberate, distinctive, and tends to divide opinion in the best way.
The formula uses naturally rendered tallow alongside castor oil, kokum butter, shea butter, mango butter, and vegetable glycerin. It loads well with a brush and builds a dense, slick lather that protects throughout the pass without drying down quickly.
