Muhle Sandalwood Shaving Stick is a twist-up shaving soap from the German brand Muhle, made with Oriental sandalwood essences and suited to normal and dry skin. It forms part of Muhle's SHAVE CARE range, alongside the Aloe Vera and Sea Buckthorn versions of the same stick.
The sandalwood used in this recipe is extracted through a multi-stage distillation process, and Muhle pairs it with warm notes of coriander and star anise rather than a single dominant wood scent. The result is a rounder, spiced fragrance intended to nourish and revitalise the skin through the colder months, alongside the moisturising effect sandalwood is known for. Like the rest of the SHAVE CARE line, it is made without animal ingredients.
Muhle has produced shaving brushes and grooming accessories from its manufactory in Stutzengrun, in Germany's Ore Mountains, since 1945, and the family business is now in its third generation. The stick format was introduced as a compact, travel-friendly alternative to Muhle's bowl soaps, twisting up from its case much like a deodorant stick so it can be applied straight to damp skin without a bowl or brush.

How to Use
Twist the stick up and apply it directly to damp skin, then work it into a lather with fingers or a dampened shaving brush. Alternatively, load a wet brush from the stick and build the lather in a bowl. Rinse with cool water afterwards and follow with an aftershave balm.
