RazoRock Plague Doctor Shaving Soap takes its name from 17th century Venice, where plague doctors filled their beaked masks with dried flowers, herbs and spices in the belief it would ward off illness. RazoRock traced an original recipe from the period and rebuilt it as a modern fragrance, opening on peony, moving through a musk heart, and settling on vetiver, white cedar and patchouli, a scent with more floral character than most of the brand's lineup.

It runs on RazoRock's Super Formula soap base of shea butter, argan oil, aloe vera and lanolin, giving a lather that's soft to load and generous in the bowl, with the kind of post-shave comfort the brand's soaps are known for. The scent itself is subtle at first but grows more noticeable through the shave.

Comes in a 150ml tub, with a matching aftershave splash available for those who want the fragrance to carry beyond the shave itself.

Floral notes and a slick soap

Posted by AmFennyFox on 5th Jun 2022

At first I was quite surprised by how floral this soap smelled. I expected a more herbal mixture but the slightly sweet scent of blooming flowers is quite pleasant. It's not overpowering and after the shave it sticks around as a light cover for a few hours. Don't expect this scent to stick to you all day though! The soap itself is easy to lather, isn't too thirsty and is overall fairly easy to work with. Not the thickest of lathers but it provides enough glide to prevent unwanted nicks or cuts.
