Semogue Owners Club Boar Cherry Wood Shaving Brush is a 24mm boar brush in a turned cherry handle, from the range where Semogue puts its better handle work and its higher bristle selections.

Selected Premium is the top boar grade the company lists. The hairs are sorted for length and left largely uncut, so the knot keeps more of its natural taper and reaches a soft tip sooner than the grades used further down the range.

A knot this size rewards patience. Give it a proper few weeks of regular use and it keeps improving, building richer lather and a softer, more refined feel with every shave while never losing the backbone a 24mm knot is built for.

Cherry darkens as it's handled, so the brush will look warmer in a few years than it does new, and the Owners Club marking is engraved into the wood rather than printed on it.

Key Features

  • 24mm Selected Premium grade boar knot at a 55mm knot height
  • The highest boar grade in the Semogue range
  • Turned cherry handle, natural and matte, with Owners Club engraving
  • Large capacity, comfortably enough for three passes
  • 114mm overall, made in Portugal

How to Use

  • Soak the knot in warm water for several minutes ahead of the first few shaves
  • Shake out the water and leave the bristles damp
  • Load from the soap for longer than a small brush needs, given the knot size
  • Lather on the face or in a bowl, thinning with water until it turns glossy
  • Rinse well and dry the wooden handle rather than leaving it wet

It's a nice brush with a well made handle. It's a great addition to my badger and synthetic fibre.

Great brush, it is very soft and makes tons of great, creamy lather from soaps and creams, i highly recommend it! Don't hesitate, buy this beauty!

    A beauty of a boar.

This brush is great. The handle is very comfortable in the hand and the knot is a nice size if you like a large brush for face lathering. It doesn't take long for the brush to break in and get softer and softer. Excellent for soaps and creams and is very well made. I cannot recommend this brush enough - you will not be disappointed!
