Semogue SOC-C5 Finest Mistura Taj Shaving Brush pairs a 24mm Finest Mistura knot at a 53mm knot height with the glossy Taj resin handle, finished with an aluminium ring and standing 112mm overall. It is made in Portugal as part of the Classic Line, by a company that has built shaving brushes since 1955.

Mistura is Semogue's blended knot, mixing badger hair with boar bristle so the brush keeps the extra backbone boar brings while gaining the water retention and soft tips of badger. The fan shape spreads the filaments for wider coverage across the face, which suits anyone who prefers to paint lather on rather than work it in with a tight, dense knot.

The Taj resin is a bright ivory tone with a high gloss, and because it is cast rather than turned the Owners Club marking is moulded into the handle. Resin is completely stable in water, so the finish is unaffected by years of soaking.
