Stirling Mediterranean Man Shaving Soap sits in the chypre family, the accord named after Cyprus, and it stays close to what the name suggests. Stirling built it as an interpretation of Creed Erolfa, and the top notes are lime, bergamot, melon, lemon, violet and caraway.
Past the opening it turns herbal and green, with pine, ginger, jasmine, pepper, cyclamen and nutmeg flower, before finishing on ambergris, musk, sandalwood, oakmoss and cedar. It is a bright, salt air kind of scent that works better in warm weather than most of the heavier soaps on the shelf.
The base is Stirling's tallow formula, which is why it lathers as easily as it does. Beef tallow, stearic acid and castor oil build the cushion, and lanolin, shea butter, sweet almond oil and coconut milk look after the skin during and after the pass.

How to Use
- Warm your brush in water and shake off what is not needed.
- Load from the tub until the brush holds a heavy paste.
- Add water gradually as you build, stopping once the lather has a wet shine to it.
- Apply in overlapping circles to work it down to the base of the hair before your first pass.
