Semogue 2015HD

Semogue 2015HD is the high density version of the 2015, with the same Finest grade badger knot packed more tightly into a natural cherry handle.

Density changes a brush more than most people expect. A tightly packed knot splays less under pressure, so it feels firmer and lays lather onto the face rather than through it, and it holds a good deal more water than a loose knot of the same diameter.

All that extra hair holds more water too, so give it a little longer to dry between shaves, and stand it somewhere with air moving rather than shut in a cabinet.

Choosing between this and the standard 2015 comes down to whether you want firmness or softness, since the hair grade, the knot size and the handle are otherwise the same.

How to Use

• Wet the knot through and shake out the water it does not need
• Load fully, allowing extra time for the density of the knot
• Lather on the face, where the firmness of a dense knot shows to advantage
• Add water in stages and keep working until the lather thickens
• Rinse well and allow longer than usual for the knot to dry
