Finest badger is graded on the length and fineness of the hair and on whether the natural tip survives into the finished knot. Hair selected at this level is long enough to be set at a working loft without trimming, so what touches the face is the tapered end rather than a cut edge.
The tips are unusually soft against the skin while the knot still holds its shape under pressure, a combination that's harder to find than either quality on its own. A wide knot at a short loft keeps the brush firm despite how fine the hair is, so it lathers with control rather than collapsing into the face.
The handle is Taj resin with a high gloss, carrying the Owners Club marking engraved into the surface and an aluminium ring at the base of the knot.

How to Use
- Wet the knot through with warm water and shake it out gently
- Load without crushing the knot, letting the tips gather the soap
- Lather on the face or in a bowl, whichever suits the soap
- Add water a little at a time and work it in until the lather is glossy
- Rinse the base of the knot clear of soap and dry the brush hair down
