Semogue SOC Mistura Cherry Wood Shaving Brush pairs a mixed badger and boar knot with a turned cherry handle from the Owners Club range.
Mistura is Portuguese for mixed, and that's exactly what the knot is: badger hair blended with boar bristle. It's noticeably less prickly than a synthetic knot built to a similar ratio, and any early scratchiness disappears once the brush is splayed and put to work.
It's excellent value for what it does: scrubbing action that stays present but never turns aggressive, and lather that releases easily and rinses out cleanly. A wide knot at a short loft is a firm combination, so it lathers with control and takes as much water as you care to give it.
The handle is turned and sanded from a single piece of cherry, finished natural and matte, so the grain varies from brush to brush and will darken as the wood is handled.

How to Use
- Soak the bristles in warm water for a few minutes before first use
- Load the brush by swirling it over shaving soap or cream
- Build lather in a bowl or directly on the face
- Rinse thoroughly after use and dry with the bristles facing down
